Day 110/29/2026

Landing in Nha Trang

After clearing immigration at Cam Ranh and the 40-50 minute ride into town, the day eases in with a short stretch of legs along Tran Phu Beach, then pizza and Vietnamese seafood on the terrace at Louisiane Brewhouse before checking into Vinpearl Beachfront for two nights.

Overview

Landing day is about getting from the plane to the pillow without anyone melting down, and this schedule handles that well. You'll clear immigration and baggage at Cam Ranh International Airport (CXR), then take the 40-50 minute drive into Nha Trang city. Rather than heading straight to the hotel, there's a short stop at Tran Phu Beach, just enough to let an 8 year old wade in the shallows and everyone stretch their legs after the flight, without turning it into a full swim day (that's tomorrow's job, when you'll have the whole afternoon at Vinpearl's private beach). Dinner is at Louisiane Brewhouse, an easy, no-fuss beachfront spot two minutes' walk from the sand, before checking into Vinpearl Beachfront Nha Trang for the two nights ahead.

Tips

  • Pack light, breathable clothes for the drive and beach walk. Bring a change of clothes for your child in case wading turns into more than wading, and keep swimsuits accessible in carry-on rather than checked bags.
  • Vinpearl Beachfront Nha Trang is still listed as a pick, not a locked booking. Confirm and pay for the room before you land, ideally a week or more out, since Vinpearl properties fill up around cable car access days.
  • Louisiane Brewhouse doesn't need a reservation for a table of three on a weekday evening, so there's no rush to book ahead there.
  • Late afternoon (3:30 to 4:30 pm) at Tran Phu Beach is a good window: the worst of the midday heat has passed and the light is softer for photos.
  • Skip pre-booking an airport taxi if you don't need to. Grab typically runs a bit cheaper than a metered taxi for the 30 mile ride into town, and you can book it right from the arrivals hall with wifi.

Getting Around

Grab or a metered taxi covers the whole day. The airport to Tran Phu Beach leg is the long one (about 44 minutes), but once you're in town everything clusters together: Tran Phu Beach to Louisiane Brewhouse is a two minute walk, and Louisiane to the hotel is another seven minutes on foot. After the airport drive, you won't need a car again today.

Local Tips

Vietnamese taxis and Grab drivers expect fares in VND, so have small bills or a loaded e-wallet ready rather than cash-only in large denominations. At Tran Phu Beach, watch for stray beach chairs and vendors near the promenade, a polite "khong, cam on" (no, thank you) is enough to wave off a sales pitch without rudeness. Restaurants like Louisiane Brewhouse don't expect tips the way Western ones do, rounding up the bill is appreciated but never required.

Cam Ranh, Khanh Hoa Province, Vietnam

    14:00 · 30m
Immigration and bags first. The drive into Nha Trang city is about 30 miles and takes 40-50 minutes by taxi or Grab (roughly 450,000-550,000 VND as of 2024). Hotel shuttles can also be booked ahead.

    Tran Phu Beach

Tran Phu Street, Loc Tho, Nha Trang

    15:30 · 60m
A gentle first walk along the promenade to stretch legs after the flight. The sand here is soft and the shoreline is shallow near the center, fine for an 8 year old to wade, though skip a full swim today since you'll have plenty of beach time tomorrow.
    About this place

Tran Phu Beach is the main public beach running along Nha Trang's central waterfront, with a long promenade, palm trees, and views out toward the offshore islands.

    History
The beach takes its name from Tran Phu, the first general secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, and the street and shoreline were developed as Nha Trang grew into a resort city from the 1990s onward. French colonial administrators had earlier noted the bay's natural harbor and clear water, which drew early tourism infrastructure well before the modern hotel boom.
    Why it's famous
Nha Trang Bay is often listed among the world's notable bays, and this stretch of sand is what put the city on the map for domestic and international beachgoers alike. Its calm, warm water and nearly two-mile curve of coastline made it a template for Vietnam's beach tourism industry, copied since by other coastal cities.
    Did you know
The water here stays warm year-round, generally between 77°F and 84°F, because the bay is partly sheltered by a chain of islands including Hon Tre, which blunts the open sea swell that hits more exposed Vietnamese coastlines.

Cable car day: VinWonders, the market, and the night market

This is the one full day, built around the cable car crossing to Hon Tre island and the VinWonders park there, which mixes rides, a water park, and an indoor aquarium, useful if an afternoon downpour rolls in. A gap in the middle of the afternoon leaves room to rest at the hotel before heading back out for the market and dinner.

One more swim, then home

The flight isn't until later, so the morning is kept for a final beach session and a bit of shopping before packing up. Everything wraps by early afternoon to leave a comfortable buffer for the drive to Cam Ranh.
